They do their job...

12:30 am the carbon monoxide detector started beeping. Was it bad batteries, a worn out detector or was it a carbon monoxide leak? I opened all of my windows and then I called the Deerfield Fire dept. The dispatcher was courteous and professional, and very informative. I was relatively certain I didn't have a carbon monoxide leak but still felt a bit unsure. He dispatched 3 firemen to my home within a couple of minutes. They were very kind and helpful, reassuring me that I didn't have a carbon monoxide problem. I also learned that a detector should be placed low to the floor, not on the ceiling like my smoke alarms. So tomorrow I am going out and buying a good quality detector and plugging it into an outlet near the floor. So while tonight they didn't have to save my life, their information might save my life in the future. God bless the men and women who protect us!! And may God protect them.
